The Weight Loss Clinic was born out of both personal struggle and professional expertise. Our founder, Dr. Kunda Phiri—a medical doctor and public health specialist—launched this platform after her own weight loss journey revealed a painful truth: too many women are overwhelmed by misinformation, unrealistic expectations, and unsustainable methods when it comes to their health.
After gaining weight during and after pregnancy, Dr. Kunda tried the usual approaches—strict diets, skipping meals, intense workout programs—only to find they didn’t work long-term. What finally made the difference was applying what she knew as a doctor: evidence-based nutrition, behaviour change science, and the power of consistency over perfection.
Her success inspired the creation of The Weight Loss Clinic—a safe, supportive space where women can access expert guidance, real-life strategies, and a community that understands their challenges.
Since then, The Weight Loss Clinic has helped hundreds of women locally and internationally lose weight in a way that fits their lives—not the other way around. Our mission is simple: to help women reach their health goals while enjoying food, family, and freedom—without starving, obsessing, or giving up who they are.

Our FOUNDERS Story

Dr. Kunda Phiri is a medical doctor, public health expert, and the founder of The Weight Loss Clinic. Her passion for helping women achieve healthy, lasting weight loss is personal—because she’s been on the journey herself.
After experiencing significant weight gain during and after pregnancy, Dr. Kunda faced the same struggles many women know all too well: emotional eating, low energy, and the constant pressure to “bounce back.” Frustrated by restrictive diets and conflicting advice, she turned to her medical training and a science-based approach. By applying evidence-based nutrition, realistic habits, and a mindset rooted in grace—not guilt—she lost the weight and discovered a new calling.

At The Weight Loss Clinic, Dr. Kunda combines her clinical expertise with real-life experience to offer compassionate, results-driven care. She is dedicated to helping women lose weight without starving, obsessing, or sacrificing the joy of everyday life.
